The USC weight room, located in the basement of Heritage Hall, is administered by Coach Chris Carlisle and his strength and conditioning staff. On a typical day, as many as 600 student-athletes come through the doors for a workout.
If you want to see what the weight room looks like, click on the virtual door and take a peek:
The football players train to get into peak shape. If you want to catch a glimpse of their typical day, here you go:
The weight room houses a great deal of USC football tradition. On one wall, for example, you'll find a listing of the all-time top ten USC Trojan weight accomplishments for power cleans, squats, and bench press:
One newer tradition is the Lifter of the Year trophy awarded every year to two student-athletes, one on each side of the ball, who exemplify "the highest standards of being a Trojan":
The famous All American Walk also starts from downstairs near the weight room. Every day, as the football players walk from the locker room to the practice field, they pass by these reminders of Trojan tradition:
The weight room is currently located below Heritage Hall and the Galen Center dining room.

The weight room's underground location is certainly fitting since Trojan athletic programs are "built" on its weight and training facility. If you'll pardon yet another pun, the weight room is the "foundation" of USC's athletic success.
